Reliability of the myoact® Cometa EMG sensors based on physiotherapeutic exercises
Examination of sEMG test-retest reliability across multiple muscle groups during functional movement tasks using Myoact® Cometa sensors. Superficial muscles (trapezius ascendens, rectus femoris, vastus medialis/ lateralis, gluteus medius) showed the highest reliability. Trapezius descendens and the hamstring muscles yielded weaker, more variable results.
CONCLUSION
Myoact® Cometa sensors proved reliable for superficial muscles under standardized, SENIAM-based conditions, making them suitable for use in athletic performance testing or monitoring physiotherapy progress. However, attention should be paid to task-specific variability and challenges in electrode placement for deeper or more complex muscles.
